This article shows you how to create a campaign in Rasil and send it, from picking the inbox it sends from to setting the safety settings and clicking Send campaign. Use it when you want to send one message to a group of your contacts at once.
Before you start
What you need
- A connected inbox to send the campaign from. You can't get past the first step without picking one — and if you don't have an inbox yet, the app tells you "No inboxes yet" and asks you to connect one before creating a campaign.
- An audience: either a saved segment you prepared earlier, or a filter you build while creating the campaign.
- Your message text. Campaign messages are sent as free text over WhatsApp Web, with no template needed.
Getting to campaign creation
- In the sidebar of your dashboard, click Campaigns to open the campaign management page.
- On the Campaigns page, click New campaign to start setting up a new send. The button sits in the page header, and also in the middle of the page if you haven't created a campaign yet.

The four campaign steps
The New campaign page is split into four steps, each opening once you complete the one before it, with a ✓ against the ones you've finished: 1 Channel → 2 Audience → 3 Message → 4 Schedule
Each step has Next to move on, Back to return, and Save draft to keep what you've done and come back to it later. You can leave the flow with Cancel at the top of the page.
Channel
Under Pick a channel, set three things:
- Campaign name — an internal label; recipients never see it. It's how you recognise the campaign in your list.
- Inbox — the campaign sends from this inbox, and its channel is derived from your choice. This one is required; Next stays disabled with the hint "Pick an inbox to continue" until you choose one.
- Type — One-time, Scheduled or Ongoing. Your choice here decides which scheduling modes you get in step 4.
Then click Next.

Audience
Under Pick your audience, you decide who receives the campaign. There are five sources:
- All contacts — the campaign goes to all of your contacts, with no filtering. The usual exclusions still apply: opted out, invalid numbers, the frequency cap and quiet hours.
- Saved segment — pick a segment you prepared earlier.
- Build a filter — build the filter conditions right here.
- Upload CSV — Coming soon.
- Pick contacts manually — Coming soon.

Building a filter
Choosing Build a filter opens the Audience filter section, which targets contacts matching your conditions, re-evaluated live at send time. It has:
- Match — how your conditions combine: All conditions (every one must hold) or Any condition (one is enough).
- Add condition — to add a condition; you can add more than one.
Each condition has three parts: the field, the operator, then the value. For example: field Name · operator Contains · and a value you type, such as Khalid. Remove any condition with Remove condition beside it.
The fields you can filter on fall into two groups:
- Contact fields: Name · Email · Phone · Language · Blocked · Last seen · Created · Label
- Custom fields: any fields you've defined in your workspace
The available operators depend on the field type, and include: equals · does not equal · contains · does not contain · starts with · ends with · greater than · less than · before · after · is empty · is not empty · is true · is false.

Check audience health before moving on
Once your conditions are set, click Check audience health. The app shows an Audience Health panel that doesn't just count matches — it breaks down who gets excluded and why:
- Total in source — how many matched your conditions.
- Opted out — they won't receive the message.
- Invalid phone — they won't receive the message.
- Deferred (frequency cap) — they were messaged recently, so their send is deferred.
- Deferred (quiet hours) — outside the allowed window, so their send is deferred.
- Will receive — the number that actually gets this campaign now.
Do this before every send. The number that matters is Will receive, and it is usually lower than the number of matches — the gap between them tells you why contacts were excluded.

Then click Next.
Message
Under Compose your message, write your message text. The field comes prefilled with a ready-made greeting — edit it, or clear it and write your own. You have:
- A formatting toolbar — bold, italic, strikethrough and monospace.
- Insert variable — to insert a dynamic variable such as the customer's name. Use the button rather than typing the token yourself: it inserts the correct form for you.
- Image (optional) — click Choose image to attach an image to the message.
- Send a test message — enter a WhatsApp number and click Send test; the draft arrives on that number so you can preview it before sending the campaign.
Send yourself a test before moving on — it's the cheapest way to catch a mistake in the text or a variable before it reaches your whole audience.
Then click Next.

Schedule and safety settings
Under When to send, choose when the campaign goes out — the modes available depend on the type you picked in step 1. Then set the Safety settings.
Safety settings
Safety settings holds six options. Pay attention to the Default column — some defaults don't reach the safe floor, and some differ by channel type.
And the app warns you itself: as long as no daily limit is set (or it is above 50), you'll see a yellow warning headed "The daily count is above what we recommend", with a Tips for safe sending block beside it. Another warning, headed "The gap is shorter than the safe floor", appears if the random gap is off or its maximum is below 180 seconds.

Send the campaign
At the bottom of the step you'll find the campaign's Summary — its name, when it sends, and how many recipients. Review it, then click Send campaign to start sending for real. Or choose Save draft and come back to it later.

Tips
- Start small. Try a limited segment first and check the result before sending to your whole list.
- On WhatsApp-Web, turn on the daily limit and set it to 50. It's the only protective setting that's off by default — the gap is already set for you, so don't get busy with it and forget the daily limit.
- Always send a test message. Previewing on your own number catches text and variable mistakes before your audience sees them.
- Check audience health before every send. The number shown is who will actually receive the campaign, and it may differ from what you expect.
- Name your campaigns clearly. The name is internal and contacts never see it, so use it for the purpose and the date and you'll find it easily later.
- Use Save draft. If you're not ready to send, save the campaign and finish it later instead of starting over.
Frequently asked questions
Do contacts see the campaign name?
No. The campaign name is an internal label for organising your campaigns, and recipients never see it.
What's the difference between One-time, Scheduled and Ongoing?
The type you pick in step 1 decides which scheduling modes you get in step 4:
- One-time → Send now.
- Scheduled → Schedule, with a date, time and timezone.
- Ongoing → Recurring (Daily, Weekly or Monthly), or Run flow per recipient (always-on) to start a flow for each contact entering the audience.
Why is my Next button disabled?
In step 1 because you haven't named the campaign ("Name your campaign to continue") or haven't picked an inbox ("Pick an inbox to continue"). In step 2 because you haven't picked an audience ("Pick an audience to continue") or haven't added a condition in Build a filter ("Add at least one filter condition"). In step 3 because you haven't written the message ("Add your message to continue").
How many messages can I send per day?
Rasil recommends keeping one WhatsApp-Web number under 50 messages a day, with a gap of 3 to 5 minutes between messages. That keeps the pace close to normal use and lowers the chance of the number being restricted — especially on a new number, or the first campaign you run from it.
The gap is already set for you at 180–300 seconds, so what's left is Limit how many are sent per day in safety settings: turn it on and set it to 50, because it's off by default and fills in 1000 when enabled.
If no daily limit is set or it goes above 50, or the gap is off or its maximum is under 180 seconds, the app warns you on WhatsApp-Web channels. And if the campaign can't finish its list in one day, it keeps running across days on its own until the whole audience is sent.
Note that this is an operational safety limit, separate from the Meta tier limit that applies to your Meta account.
Why can't I find the Saved segment option?
Saving segments is a paid feature. If your plan doesn't include it, you may not see the option or you may see an upgrade prompt. Use Build a filter or All contacts instead. And if the feature is available to you but you haven't saved a segment yet, you'll see "You don't have any saved segments yet".
How do I preview the message before sending?
From the Message step: enter a WhatsApp number in Send a test message and click Send test. The draft arrives on that number.
What happens if the delivery rate drops mid-send?
If Auto-pause if delivery rate drops is on, sending pauses automatically when the rate falls below the threshold you set (80% by default).
